NON-DOT DESIGNATED EMPLOYER REPRESENTATIVE TRAINING (DER)
Course Summary
Non-DOT General DER Training is a 2-hour online training course geared toward any drug and alcohol-free workplace that falls outside of US DOT regulations. Students who complete the course will understand and be able to confidently execute the responsibilities of the role.
Course Description
A Designated Employer Representative (DER) is a person who has been tasked with the responsibility to make formal decisions regarding a workplace drug and alcohol testing program. It is their responsibility to develop a complete understanding of best practices for managing a drug and alcohol program.
This online course will prepare the DER with all of the knowledge and tools necessary to be successful and confident in the role. In addition, trained DERs are more likely to avoid making costly mistakes that could result in fines, penalties, and/or employee lawsuits.
Learners will receive thorough instruction that includes what it means to be a DER, the roles and responsibilities, how to handle testing issues, applicable regulations, training requirements, record retention guidelines, and more.
Students learn at their own pace with our comprehensive online training program that uses videos, documents, resources, and PowerPoint presentations. Reference materials and helpful guides are also provided to assist prospective DERs in succeeding as they embark on their career. A certificate of completion can be downloaded immediately after passing the online exam.
Obtain certification as a Designated Employer Representative in as little as 2 hours. Those who complete this training are fully prepared to manage a drug and alcohol free workplace policy within their non-DOT organization.
