DOT Evidential Breath Testing Device (EBT) Training - All Models

Course Overview

DOT Evidential Breath Testing Device (EBT) Training – All Models is a 4-hour online training course that includes virtual mock demonstrations, EBT device training, and one-on-one instruction. Students who complete the course will be able to properly conduct DOT and Non-DOT breath alcohol testing in the workplace.

Course Overview

Important Note: This course requires the student to have an Evidential Breath Testing Device (EBT) Device for demonstrations and enough mouthpieces for completing more than 7 mocks (at least 10 spare mouthpieces). The technician will also need at least 10 Alcohol Testing Forms (ATFs) and tamper-evident tape if your EBT Device does not print tamper evident self-adhesive labels.

Anyone operating an Evidential Breath Testing (EBT) Device for federally regulated employees is mandated to receive training specific to the approved device they use for testing. This training course is designed to comply with device-specific education requirements for both DOT and Non-DOT standards.

Please note this is a device training course only. It does not cover basic instruction and training for aspiring DOT or Non-DOT Breath Alcohol Technicians (BATs). That course can be found here. (link)

Students benefit from individualized training with a qualified instructor who can answer any questions. Also included at no extra charge are virtual Mock Demonstrations (Mocks) conducted by webcam. A certificate of completion can be downloaded immediately after passing the online exam.

DOT Evidential Breath Testing Device (EBT) Training is the final component of training that is required to conduct alcohol testing under DOT protocols. Sign up today to complete your education and qualify to become a DOT Breath Alcohol Technician.

According to 49 CFR Part 40.213(b)(2), “. . . training must include training to proficiency in using the alcohol testing procedures of this part and in the operation of the particular alcohol testing device(s) (i.e., the ASD(s) or EBT(s)) you will be using.” (https://www.transportation.gov/partners/drug-and-alcohol-testing/dot-rule-49-cfr-part-40-section-40213 Accessed April 2021).
