DOT Alcohol Screening Test Technician Training (STT)

This course requires the student to have an approved Alcohol Screening Device (ASD) for demonstrations and enough mouthpieces or testing strips for completing mocks (at least 10 spare mouthpieces). The technician will also need at least 10 DOT Alcohol Testing Forms (ATFs) and tamper-evident tape if the ASD is designed to print results.

DOT Alcohol Screening Test Technician (STT) Training is an online training course that includes qualification training, virtual mocks and Alcohol Screening Device (ASD) training. Students who complete the course will be able to work as a DOT-qualified screening test technician.

DOT Alcohol Screening Test Technicians (STTs) play a pivotal role in maintaining a drug- and alcohol-free workplace by measuring Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC) for DOT-regulated employees.

**Please note that this course is not for those who plan to become a Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) using an evidential breath testing device (EBT Device) capable of screening and confirmation. Consider enrolling in the DOT Breath Alcohol Technician Training course.

This training course complies with the three training benchmarks required by federal regulation 49 CFR Part 40.213(a-c), including Basic Information Training, Qualification Training, and five Initial Proficiency Demonstrations.

Students learn independently with our comprehensive online training program that uses videos, documents, resources, and PowerPoint presentations. Also included at no extra charge are virtual Mock Demonstrations (Mocks) conducted by webcam. A certificate of completion can be downloaded immediately after passing the online exam.
